Don't know what he does but costs a lot of money I could be spending on basic units. Who ever needed those? Hired one because the game told me so. Never got the idea of employing more operators by myself as well. It's still an enjoyable game for the most part but the idea with adding districts every few duties does nothing for me. So in the end bigger is not always better. Once again: the most basic car is the best option here with the exception of a couple of motorcycle squads for police for chasing and minor incidents and helicopters for search missions and single transports and maybe those pickups for the fire brigade because they can be used to give you more time before the big trucks arrive. ![]() You will also learn that some of the vehicles are not worth their money. Trying to get a decent coverage of specialized units is of course even more expensive and might be something achievable in the "endgame" when there are no additional districts to be thrown at you but starting out you are probably better off just ignoring this avenue. So what do you do? Get more basic units instead of course! They will do just fine without the gadgets. Having so many units means upgrading these kits will be extremely expensive. The specialization is a neat concept but the player is far better off getting more and more units for a map that is getting bigger and bigger by adding additional districts every few duties. If it is a basic patrol car you will probably spend a minute or two looking for the right one and then again they might be busy resolving another issue and can't be sent right away. ![]() And even if you insist to send them and only them: good luck finding that specific unit. So you will just send whoever is available. Of course you would like to use it but it is probably very far away and/or the squad having it is resolving another situation and will probably not arrive on time anyway. Let's say you bought one of those bomb-robots and there is a threat of a bombing. So you will send them to parking violations and administering speeding tickets anyway.because they were closer than other units.Īnd this happens all the time. And even if you did send it, you will probably have sent any free units in the direct vicinity anyway, who will have solved the problem before the SWAT-team even arrives. Those cars are extraordinarily slow and will take half a day to cross the city. Even if you did manage to get a fully equipped SWAT-team in one of those fancy trucks -you know the ones you would send to a gang-war, a hostage situation and stuff like that- you probably never will. There will be very little room to specialize in the end or making use of those specialized units. The idea of being able to customize kits to buy for your units to specialize and/or expedite basic tasks seems great but never really plays out, because the map size WILL increase over time and you will be spending all your money on additional units to cover the area accordingly with basic units. It's predecessor seemed much more enjoyable to me.
